Principal

Nathan was passionate about being a loan officer, helping his clients achieve the dream of homeownership, so it was only a natural progression to become President of a highly successful independent mortgage company with mortgage originators in four states. As the first employee, he reveled in the challenge of starting a new company and grew the business from zero to $1.8 billion in annual originations with over 250 employees and 70+ originators. Following his tenure at McLean Mortgage, he co-founded Vellum Mortgage and set out to create a business definitively unique to the mortgage industry and set to redefine the current loan process.

Nathan was a proud board member of the National Mortgage Bankers Association, is currently Vice Chairman of the Mortgage Bankers Political Action Committee (MORPAC), and serves on the MBA’s Independent Mortgage Bankers Council.

Having been born in Washington, D.C. and growing up in Alexandria and Fairfax, Nathan is a true Northern Virginia native. He loves spending time with his family and ripping up random trails in southern WV on his ATV. Nathan is also a music lover, a former DMB head and he even managed a band for 6 year then continued to be a “sound-guy” for 14 years just for the fun of it. You’ll always know where Nathan is, he brings a massive positive presence and you’ll probably hear him too. He has a way of motivating and brings a uniquely positive culture to the office.

Favorite Movie Quote: “Relax, all right? My old man is a television repairman, he’s got this ultimate set of tools. I can fix it.” – Fast Times at Ridgemont High.

Nathan has a BA from George Mason University.
